According to a new report, competition in the foldable space has Samsung in a panic, and the company is revving up plans to launch a rollable smartphone as soon as next year.
And at a cost of 5000 plus probably
And will still have that awful GN3 sensor on the primary rear camera. Xiaomi were using a Sony sensor of the same size on the Redmi Note 12 Pro a phone that cost somewhere around $200-300 depending on the region it was sold back in 2022 and 2023.
I’d be hyped anyway. Not because I want to buy one now, but because it’s possible (and I might buy one in like a decade when they’re affordable)
Rollable phones are such insanely sci-fi-y things
Samsung in a panic?? Every foldable screen is manufactured by Samsung afaik.
IIRC display and chip manufacturing are basically treated like separate businesses from the phones as a product. And all the other companies foldables are better than Samsung’s (imo at least) because they haven’t innovated or improved in several generations.
Not disagreeing, but the other foldables claiming no crease are bs from what I’ve seen.
Has anyone noticeably innovated? Genuinely curiousIdk about no crease but Samsung’s appear to be the most noticeable from what I’ve actually seen. I think other manufacturers have improved on this over time but I haven’t seen anything newer than my Pixel Fold in person.
I’m not a Samsung fan by any stretch, but this I would love to see.
After a decade of identical rectangles it’s nice to see some crazy shit again
