Yemen’s Houthi rebels unilaterally released 153 “conflict-related” detainees from Yemen’s capital city of Sana’a, according to the statement released by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Saturday. At a Sana’a press conference, officials revealed that most released prisoners are captured on the battlefront and are the wounded, elderly, and those in exceptional circumstances.

    The conflict between the Houthis and the Yemeni government, apparently, since that’s not stated anywhere, and we shouldn’t assume.

          or if you consider that the majority of the population of yemen lives in ansar allah controlled territory. the saudi (US) aligned compradors control the oil fields…

          ah, i guess this tracks, since according to western ideology, land (and especially oil) has more votes than mere people.

        Ansar Allah is the Houthis. They control Sana’a and are establishing a rival government, but they are not the established Yemeni government, no.
