Summary

Bradley Bartell, a Trump voter from Wisconsin, started a GoFundMe to raise $3,000 for his wife Camila Muñoz’s bond after ICE detained her.

Muñoz, a Peruvian citizen, overstayed her work-study visa due to the pandemic and was seeking legal residency as Bartell’s spouse. She was arrested returning from a honeymoon in Puerto Rico.

Bartell continues to maintain that he does not regret voting for Trump.

Since Trump’s return to office, ICE has arrested over 90,000 immigrants.

Never underestimate the amount of cognitive dissonance to be found in the average Trump supporter’s views. These are remarkably dumb people.

Damn that sucks if true. I really do feel bad for them, but like what is the point of me donating if he’s not going to speak out against this administration. Doesn’t he realize it’s not just about his situation, but for everyone else who’s also impacted by this? I rather give to another family that will not only use these funds to hopefully turn their situation around but also you know like then also give back/help others and speak out. To be honest I didn’t look into OP’s comment to fact check because you know I’m only human, busy and got problems of my own. If true though this is really sad …

There are already too many deserving charities for my pocket book. Giving money to an unrepentant Trump voter who got exactly what he voted for gets my sympathy, but not a dime.

Doesn’t he realize it’s not just about his situation,

He probably just wants his wife to stay, but everybody else to be thrown out.

I really do feel bad for them

        Why?

Actually, no. Studies have shown that those who lean conservative tend to have a diminished ability to feel empathy. There’s a good chance that he simply cannot comprehend that others could be negatively affected by his actions. In his mind, he’s all that matters.

Americans doing a GoFundMe is always funny to me. Like you clearly understand if you pool together money, you can make a big impact. For example when little Timmy needs a big operation and can’t afford it, people can start a GoFundMe, everyone chips in a little bit of money and Timmy is covered. So if we scale that up a bit… NO, THAT’S COMMUNISM!

It’s racism. In America the answer is almost always racism.

Basically, with a GoFundMe, or ‘churches taking care of the poor’, or whathaveyou, you can make sure your money goes only to the poor Good Christian white folks, and none of it gets used to help those icky brown folks. Unlike government programs which have to help everyone equally.

Considering communism has a centrally planned economy this is not analogous at all. You’re thinking more in line with social programs which I do agree

The thing is… I’m sure this is how other Trump voters look at him, too. Especially white people with no latino family or friends.

They just see him as a rube.

Bartell, on voting for Trump despite his immigration policies: “He didn’t create the system, but he does have an opportunity to improve it. Hopefully, all this attention will bring to light how broken it is.”

Sheer delusion. I got news for you chump, Trump doesn’t give a shit about fixing anything. He’s not going to help you. He doesn’t feel gratitude, he doesn’t understand ethics. He already told you he only needed your vote one more time, he got it and now you’re disposable.

They thought Trump was gonna make them all so rich, now they’re begging for money and eggs. And it’s just the beginning.

    Stay in school.

Sch… school? They’re dismantling the public institutions keeping education accessible. If they get their way, it’s going to be straight to the farm, factory, and then Republican ballot boxes 18 years later.
