The U.S. government is on a global egg hunt, seeking exports from countries in Europe and elsewhere to ease a severe shortage that has caused egg prices at grocery stores to hit record highs.

I’ve posted this often in threads about Trump begging for eggs: European diplomats can get their point across succinctly by delivering a few dozen eggs, personally and ballistically, direct to the White House front door.

Yes, that will get them expelled, but they will get expelled anyway just for saying things Trump doesn’t like. May as well make it count.

Would be hilarious. Every ambassador who visits the White House just leaves a tray of a dozen eggs from their country on the doorstep.

I don’t understand egg-xactly how that would work? Eu standards are different. Would the new administration change fda rules out of hand, eliminating the wash and change mandated ( because USA eggs are so nasty in the factory farms this is required); or would someone connected make bank in a new scam to “process” them? Either way, there are not enough eggs to bring down prices, so all this is just a demented publicity stunt, with Americans being egged on about it

USian here: make it really expensive for us, Europe. We deserve it and it’s the only way we’ll learn.

Is the shortage that bad? Is it only because of the bird flu?
