So, uhh, has the word “bussy” ever meant something other than “boy pussy”, I.E ass?

According to screenshots posted to social media, the account posted a photo of Doyle and a child with the caption: “bussy galore”.

What were they thinking?

Whatever they were thinking, death threats are waaay over the top.

But that account should have been deleted before he even became a candidate. Really unprofessional.

    1. The comment was a reply to an album of multiple photos. We don’t know which one it was intended for, but safe to safe probably not the child.

    2. It’s a photo of them and their child. Something many parents upload.

You can comment on both the album and an individual photo on Facebook though.

And the fact it was their child doesn’t make this less weird.

I have never heard the term, other than in the 90’s, referring to the person in that busses the tables in a restaurant.

But saying ‘bussy galore’ is not referring to clearing the tables. But also

    What were they thinking?

This was a year before he was an MP. Not smart but also not acting in any official capacity.

Edit: Ok, so I found a copy of the image, biblebeltbussy is his account, apparently. WTF!!!

Can you slide over to the other photos in that group? Would love to know which one their comment was meant for.

Also what is that woman congratulating?

Nope, I found that on a blog post about this.

Edit: just got back to my laptop so I can find where the image came from, I’m not sure what the original site is; I don’t really do social media outside of Lemmy.

This is the blog; I’ve not come across them before. Reading through parts of it, this doesn’t come across as the most credible source in the world.

That’s by Ian Wishart. He’s a conservative christian climate change denier who runs a dodgy conspiracy magazine called Investigate which runs allegations about things like Muslim terrorists infiltrating NZ.

In other words you should probably independently verify all claims and images before believing them.

It is much worse, I was thinking it was some hyperbole from the media, where “child” is like 15-16 but looks older…nope, that is a 6-8yo.

There is literally no excuse to post this.

Apparently several right wing groups have been posting AI generated images in order to frame the guy. I would make sure those pictures are not fake.

I think this could be very telling. If this is found to be faked, it will shine a spotlight on the manipulation of the public discourse in NZ politics.

If it is not faked…well the Greens should vet their people much more closely.
