No, you don’t vote for genocide-supporters period. I am appalled that is a controversial opinion.

Supporting a genocide is not “Lack of perfection”. It’s an abundance of evil

It doesn’t though, because you know for damn sure that every Republican will be voting for trump. If a substantial number of liberals don’t vote for Biden, Trump wins.

Each election has a different expected low-turnout winner. In the race for U.S. President, low turnout nearly always benefits the Republicans. So one can expect forfeiting their vote to have the equivalent effect as voting for the low-turnout winner, i.e. Trump.

In a first-past-the-post voting system under duopoly control, voting third party is equivalent to forfeiting your vote.

But thats good news, you can force the democrats to run a different candidate by threatening to withhold your vote. And if they don’t, you have to make good on your threat.

I suppose, so long as you’re ok with “making good on your threat” meaning living the remainder of your life in a fascist dictatorship. That’s a little far for me to go to prove a point to people I’ve never met that probably won’t even get my message.

Also, what good would teaching the Democrats a lesson do when Trump winning likely means an end to democracy.

At best it slows down a bit.

YES!!! You get it! Now use that little bit of time if you’re so inclined to try to prevent a slide into fascism in whatever way you do think might work.

In the real world, people will vote in their own self interest. If you’re queer, trans, have dark skin, are female, or are an ally to those groups, not voting for Biden is functionally equivalent to voting for the orange turd who will support and encourage crimes against them.

The harm reduction argument doesn’t work if for the past 4 years individual rights have constantly deteriorated.

Which is, in a large part, due to the fallout from actions taken by the Trump administration.

Man, this is an immature take. The republican stacked judiciary has been the biggest issue for reducing harm in The US.

Do we like the support of the Israelis actions, absolutely not. But, when people tell you who they are, listen. Trump would be worse for everyone except his chosen few and the oligarchs. He has said as much.

If we had a more truly left option that would not put so many others at risk, I think we’d see a massive shift. That is our work during the next 4 years.

We just don’t have a good viable option this year…

So if he doesn’t have the magic ability to make everyone’s lives better in an instant, he’s useless?

The entire point of our system is that we don’t have a singular person with absolute power. The reason the Trump administration was able to take the actions it did wasn’t due to just Trump. It was also due to actions taken by congress and the judiciary.

This one office can only do so much, you need to vote in that election in addition to every other election you’re able to. And it won’t be a quick turnaround. Expecting magic to happen two seconds after stepping out of the voting booth once every four years is naive and getting petulant when it doesn’t happen is dangerous.

Dude just admit that you’re 14 and spouting your parents political views at this point. We were all there once.
