How is that out of hand? There’s only one printer there.
think that’s the problem. it’s like carrying in the heavy bags of salt or stuff. gotta have two. to stay balanced.
you know. one printer with the .1mm nozzle (and the gear train on the extruder to make that work… bleh) and another printer with the 1mm nozzle and 3mm filament, and another with the direct drive for the TPU and stuff… and maybe a paste extrusion… and maybe… uh…
…okay maybe I have a problem…
Maybe it’s out of hand because there’s only one printer there? Needs more printer?
That’s fair
My 3rd arrives on Thursday. You?
…5
My second printer arrived a month ago, and im using that to convert my first printer into a voron 0.2. so that only still counts as 2 right?
Exactly. You have a problem once they start multiplying.
If you start printing 3D printer, that is a terminal stage and no help for you anymore. Can we do that? I heard they had started making metallic 3d printers, but we aren’t at that stage are we?
Idk, I do know I want one though
Look up “the 100”
It’s (mostly) 3D printed and one of the fastest printers out there. I’m going to build one this winter I think
Also the rook.
Why. Why did you have to show me a new printer to build? Why??!!
The rook/100 is so badass I want to build one real bad
My 25th printer should be arriving in a week or so, there’s still hope for you, go on without me!
What kind of magical land do you live in where you can have your can store your filament in the open without it getting soaked?
It’s about 38%RH in the house, I just throw the spool in the dryer for a bit and bowden goes straight from dryer to filament sensor in the enclosure
The only thing that I can see is out of hand is the open air filament storage! (I live in the tropics so vacbags and dessicant are a must!)
Ah I’m in NE US and we have pretty low humidity year round, I just throw the sensitive stuff in the dryer for requisite time and good so far
Nah, you’re fine.
If everything can be contained on or in a lack, I’d say you’re a master of control.
Do your organizational efforts a favor an never join a filament of the month club.
Lol - yeah once I saw where it was all going I got the lack setup for my wife’s sanity. I’m surprised I’ve been able to keep it as “tidy” as it is… though I still end up having to clean out my corner every weekend.
Definitely won’t be joining a filament of the month club, learned that lesson with cheese…so many meh cheeses
My friend, you have nothing to worry about. Try 6 printers and over 150 spools…
Thank you for reassuring me amigo- running my first ‘big’ petg-cf print in your honor
don’t see anything wrong here!
Completely normal phenomenon
A little
please don’t tell my wife
Yup. Need a resin printer to balance things…
Talk me into one! My understanding is Downsides: Mess/smell ? Upsides: Level of detail ?
I’d really love to know your thoughts haven’t been able to sell myself though - I mainly am looking for part strength or resilience, detail matters less to me
Downsides and upsides are what you’ve listed here. Also, resin isn’t just stinky, it’s toxic, and setup and tear down is a pain in the ass.
Like a HUGE pain in the ass,
Resin prints are also brittle, so unless your just using it for minis, FDM is still more useful/ fun
OK perfect confirming what I thought - the have their uses but I have no interest in minis and don’t need anything more detailed than I can get at 0.12 layer height
You can never have too many or too large a 3D printer. If only I had the space and time.
