My guess is that their thinking is based on the sunk cost fallacy. The Western ruling class has been wasting everybody’s tax dollars on this conflict for several years now and nobody wants to see all of that dosh go to waste by letting Kiev and Moscow sign a peace treaty that inhibits NATO expansion.

What I find upsetting is how so many people can dismiss the antisemites in the Ukrainian military and other institutions with half-baked excuses like ‘it’s okay because the neo-Nazis are all gone now’ (which they aren’t), ‘it’s okay because they have a Jewish president’ (who isn’t fixing the problem), and ‘it’s okay because Russia’s got neo-Nazis too’ (which is irrelevant; they aren’t the ones benefitting from our tax dollars). I know that it doesn’t bother neoclassical liberals to keep beating their war drums, but that they can gloss over Ukrainian antisemitism as a nonissue and an open and shut case… just astonishes me.

Maybe we have a basic understanding of geopolitics and the facts. Like Ukraine never had a Nazi problem. How could you compare a dictatorship to a free democracy and call the democracy Nazis like hello?

Ukraine never had a Nazi problem.

…wow.

Also your links don’t work. Also you’re an idiot. You’re a useful idiot for the Russians

I feel cheap for featuring a stranger’s obscure reply, but that anybody could say this unjokingly utterly astounds me.

I’m guessing this person simply believes that Nazis cannot ever be a problem, that Ukraine has nazis, but they aren’t a problem, the untermensch are.

mainstream media has started admitting that the narrative of ukraine being invaded unprovoked is false and i wonder how long it’ll take for liberals to realize that they were mislead; assuming that they don’t double down and their willful ignorance like maga does.

i’m sure some of them will realize they were mislead and change their ways, but the vast majority of them will stop thinking about it for a few years, then when forced to confront it will say they always opposed intervention, just like they did with the Afghanistan and Iraq invasions.

Zelensky has been ruling unelected for like a year now, and the president before him was unelected. The president before that was impeached by a Parliament that blocked his party from voting the day after neo Nazis tried to assassinate him.

Maybe we have a basic understanding of geopolitics and the facts.

Well the comment about Ukraine NEVER having a Nazi problems proves this statement to be false. How the hell do you brag about having a basic understanding of geopolitics but then state Ukraine never had Nazis. If you understood the situation you’d know what the Ukrainian government was doing in the Donbas and NATO involvement. Also the Neo-Nazis during the Maidan coup (or revolution because that seems to be the term they like to use).

I just want this war to end, not only so the suffering of the people ceases, but also so these smug assholes can grovel in failure.
