We’ve been wanting to set up Music Assistant and now since we started using ProtonVPN, Apple Music is constantly blocking our account.
Do you have any recommendations for a music service that works well with Music Assistant and from behind VPN?
I’ll have to check the vpn situation later but the tidal integration works pretty well!

I don’t need to, I want to. Basic privacy.
How does running your music service through a VPN improve privacy?
I want to have VPN enabled always on my phone. I want my music app to work on my phone.
But yeah thanks for asking the right questions: I should split tunnel so the music app can go around the VPN obviously!
Yeah, that would definitely help
The VPN part is tough to answer since it depends on the music service and VPN exit IP. You may find the VPN is fine if you use another exit node.
We’re currently looking at Qobuz and Tidal. Will keep you updated if Qobuz’ family plan “same household” rule will cause problems with the VPN
