I don’t think that’s likely at all. Alt-history enthusiasts for better or worse don’t often put that much research into their projects, so something that might seem like an egregious misunderstanding to someone more knowledgeable in the subject might sound reasonable to them, especially if they just cobbled together their vague understanding of these groups.
Hitler, Himmler, Speer etc had plans that were no more consistent with reality than the average alt history enthusiast come up with. That they also ruled one of the belligerents of WW2 doesn’t make their ideas more coherent. This is just discount might makes right.
