I always have. The PS2 only fits 2 cards. Did you only ever have 2 cards? If you had more than 2 then where did you put the rest?

I’ve tried various different areas. If there is some sort of secret technique that everyone just magically knows, I could never figure it out.
Goddamn I wish I could. People describe it as pleasurable and then relaxing. But I’ve never been able to do it. It’s like either the nerve endings aren’t hooked up right or there is some sort of brain defect, but I lack the ability for pleasure there, myself.
Sorry, I’m not the OP.
So far I’ve tried Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and Pop OS. Although I only briefly tried Pop OS. Didn’t stick around long enough to see if it would have issues as well. There were other issues with that one that I can’t quite remember…I think it was that often the OS would decide not to boot. Something about a weird compatibility issue with the BIOS or something.
The basic mouse features work, stupid. It’s the gesture button/features that don’t work, stupid. No one has come up with good support for anything other than basic mouse features on Linux, stupid.
Like I said, my computer no longer has BSODs in Windows after some settings I changed. I think I just ended up reducing the max percentage of the processor usage or something and it worked great after.
I do remember when I first got the laptop, it was frustrating because it would BSOD with relative frequency. I was very frustrated with the manufacturer…because the laptop would always pass hardware benchmark tests and the BSODs were random, so they refused to look at it under warranty. Errors were always super vague but primarily seemed to point toward the video card. The video card is integrated and not its own dedicated card.
I don’t think I have ever tried that particular set of texts before, though. I tried googling it…is it the one by Pass Mark? If so, I’ll check it out, thanks.
Re: hanging in Linux…no, the system would completely freeze up and never recover until I manually powered down the system. Interestingly, I found some other users stating that they had this issue with Firefox because of some resources issue or something. So I planned to try to switch to Chrome, but got frustrated with the features mouse not being compatible anyway. So I left it at that.
Wouldn’t surprise me, but the point was that it’s fixable in Windows but not the Linux distros I have tried.
Plug and play essentially means “it just works”. Like as simple as plugging in a USB mouse and using it. When something isn’t plug and play, it means it takes a bit of fiddling with.
I can’t get the more elaborate functions of my common Logitech mouse to work properly. And Linux systems like to cause my computer to periodically hang for some reason. In Windows, it used to BSOD, and I managed to fix the issue in Windows but it seems impossible for me to fix in Linux because of how vague of an issue it is.
I’m in a similar boat. My computer meets all of the other requirements like TPM and whatnot, yet they are arbitrarily deciding that my processor is too old. And for some reason you can walk into your local computer store and buy a laptop with the shittiest processor and other specs possible that somehow runs Windows 11. Just because the processor on the new shitbox was manufactured more recently. Ridiculous.
You don’t even need to patch the Android app called Red Reader. It works by default. Not super pleasing to look at, but it has always done the job. I think they managed to squeak by the API shutdown thing because they are headed toward blind users, but sighted users can use it too.
That seems rather counterproductive imo. The only way to get useful results on any search engine is to input “reddit” at the end of your search ime. So it seems like it’s limiting the discovery and knowledge base of things here by not allowing for the same thing for Lemmy. Idk how to word that correctly.
Sms, calls, discord, Google voice, work emails (I rarely get a work email…maybe a couple of times per month)
I have my personal Gmail to get silent notifications so I know if something happened but I’m not repeatedly spammed.
Most other things are off unless they are unobtrusive. Ex: my robot vacuum stays enabled for notifications so I know when it is done cleaning, Uber eats is enabled for order tracking but disabled for promotions
You’d think that every place should do this, but for whatever reason a lot of them do weird shit like in the OP. Not sure why that is. Maybe they are afraid of the characters running too long or something like that for people with long names?
Edit: Wow just reading through some of the real generated emails in this post is wild lol!!
Yes, they accuse me of “overthinking” things a lot in general. But they don’t realize that I have to do this in order to try to do things more correctly. Lack of enough thought is what gets me into these kinds of situations, you know?
I’m definitely not imagining most of these. If everyone is happily smiling and chatting away, and then I make a mistake which causes a sudden change in facial expression, curt response, and the sudden end of a flowing conversation, then it’s not my imagination.
Coworker 3 is the most lenient/forgiving of them, but issues still arise with them too.
No, I don’t currently pause between each sentence. Usually conversation flows quite smoothly. But it flows until I make a grave error and then it shuts down catastrophically. My question was saying “how can I think before I speak” because pausing after each sentence would be incredibly jarring and not work with conversational flow if that makes sense.
Coworker 3 has occasionally asked that out of genuine concern when I have been having a bad time. But it’s a trick question because I’m not supposed to respond that I am having a bad time. It is the incorrect response and will make them upset, even if they tell me that I can be honest. It’s very confusing because coworker 3 will occasionally tell me that it’s ok to come to them with things, but the reality is that isn’t true. If I do that, it makes them upset. So one of the biggest things is that I have worked to not tell coworker 3 when something is bothering me and not share feelings like this with them. But it is confusing when they do things that indicate that it’s ok and welcomed for me to do so when it isn’t. They say one thing but I am supposed to act in a way that is discordant with what they indicate, which is confusing.
And sometimes coworker 3 likes to discuss serious topics. So I sometimes accidentally say something about the topic with too much emotion in my voice or something or the wrong statement in general and then I fuck up the whole thing.
I mean…I’m old enough and have tried on and off for years at this point that that advice isn’t particularly helpful. Maybe if I was in my teens or twenties, sure. But people say things like “oh you’re just a late bloomer” or “oh you’ll just figure it out, it comes naturally” have never been all that helpful to me.
