Though if any faction benefits from the Intel spec, it’s the Romulans and their battle cloak.
I have the legendary Romulan BoP, and it’s Intel spec is profoundly useless. Maybe I just don’t know how to use it? The DD is the Miracle Worker spec, which is way better.
My favorite ship is distinctly anti meta. I took the legendary DD, and spent 2/3 of my consoles and traits to increase turn speed so I can use dual heavy cannons.
I like the vertical style warbird.

Nah, you’re probably right - I don’t really pay attention to the meta because I don’t care, but Intel has always been a bit of a black sheep.
