I worked out that I had been crocheting into the same ch2 hole after joining the round, which meant increasing asymmetrically on one side and growing the stitch count!
Crochet seems a lot more free form than knitting so it was easy for me to get off track. But seeing the results gave me a lot of clarity on where I mistook the written directions.
When beginning a new round it looked like I was ‘skipping’ a ch2 space at the start so I’d DC in there but in reality it was the same space I’d just slip stitched into and so I was accidentally making a V increase after I was meant to stop increasing.
But yeah, it’s nicely on track now. Looks like \
I’m trying to get the efficient motion and tension/yarn holding finger down next and it’s coming along
Health
Yeah, my health has just suddenly deteriorated again. Bummer. I really don’t want to get as sick as I used to be.
I’m taking another crack at this string bag and worked out what I did wrong last time.
The future is not knowable. You’ve had ups and downs before, maybe the up will start sooner than you think. Hang in there and look after yourself.
Thanks. I really hope so. Things feel like a bit of a merry go round.
I am so sorry to hear. I hope you can get some solutions and that Melbcat is looking after you.
Thanks, hopefully I can.
Melbcat is often beside me or checking up on me, she’s a very good nurse
Crocheted bags are my thing if you have any questions.

Yeah the last stitch is always into the chain. You’ll know it’s going well when you see the chain go diagonal.
