When I was on reddit, it seemed to matter so much how old your account was on any given subreddit, but now i realize it’s extraordinarily bad opsec to have a single account.
All this to say: there being a single point of authority that can issue IP bans and shadowblocks and generally have control over user identity information is just so needlessly stupid.

There are a million third party vendors that sell replacements on amazon, just take a look. Though - and I don’t know for sure having not actually read the article - it seems as though you may also need to change out the firmware so you can keep operating it if iRobot’s servers go down, since all the roombas i’m aware of need internet connectivity to operate.
If you’re at the point where you need to start replacing parts, it might be worth starting to look into other brands

It’s one thing to make mention of or recommend another community, it’s another to spend your time flooding their threads with it repeatedly, even when asked to stop. What starts as impassioned advocacy can quickly turn into harassment and spam, and I think you crossed that line.
It should be evident just in the way you wrote an entire wiki article in this post - they were right to temporarily remove you from this conversation. If you only go there to dissolve their community, they have every right to kick you out of it.

Not because you’re wrong about consolidating communities, and not even because you were trying to get people to move to the other comm; but because you’re doing it in the least communal and democratic way possible, and for your disregard for the mod team and community’s collective intent. I think the mod team handled this pretty well.

Beyond the publicly known political preference of the mod, I think it’s strange that a community on a social media site built on activitypub would have a blanked policy against the posting of other self-published news sources, irrespective of the authors and journalists and their proven reputation.
That said, my take on lemmy moderation has always been JDS, or ‘just decentralize, stupid’. We’re not reddit, and we don’t want to be like reddit, so we shouldn’t be going out of our way to centralize communities or complain when we don’t like the moderation choices or rules of a community we think ought to be managed differently.
